Halloween fun food ideas

After the kids are done carving the pumpkins we treat ourselves to a scary pancake dinner.    We drink out of ghostly cups and eat ghoulish pancakes.  These are easy ideas came from one of my older Pillsbury booklet magazines.  By adding about fifteen more minutes to my regular cooking time, I have created a fun themed dinner for the kids.

For the cups you will need:
  • 4  Clear plastic solo cups
  • 1 tablespoon of Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips
In a small microwavable bowl, melt the chocolate chips for about one minute, or until they are can be stirred smooth.  Take a butter knife, and with the tip spread the chocolate on the inside of the plastic cup.  Refrigerate the cups for about 5 minutes, to harden.  Pour in your favorite drink - my kids poured in milk/ milk substitute.  My orange juice lover, made triangle eyes and pour in orange juice and made it look like a pumpkin.

For the pancakes:
  • 2 cups of your favorite pancake batter
  • 1 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 tsp sugar
Take 1/4 cup of your favorite pancake batter and stir in the cocoa and the sugar.  This chocolate batter will be the eyes and mouth of your ghoul.   With a spoon drop batter on a greased skillet.

Surround the face with your regular pancake batter.  You can do this with a pancake pen ( this works the best) of you can use a large spoon, to make your shapely ghoul.

My pancake pen and chocolate batter ready to go.
Make your ghoul with the regular batter

Cook as usual, and Enjoy!
